Our Mission

Our mission as a church has 3 parts:

We exist to

  • CONNECT people to Jesus Christ,
  • GROW them in Jesus Christ, and
  • IMPACT the world for Jesus Christ.

Those three words (CONNECT, GROW, IMPACT) are the guiding forces behind everything we do here at LoamiCC. We think about them when we're planning our music or teaching our little ones. If we neglect any one of these things, we neglect a huge part of the God-glorifying work we've been given to do.

If we don't help people CONNECT to a faith in Jesus which leads to salvation and eternal life, then we have absolutely failed from the start. If we don't GROW believers in a practical and powerful understanding of God's Word, but instead let them wade forever in the kiddie pool of immaturity, then we have failed. If we do not lead our people to get out of their seats and live their faith in a manner that IMPACTS the world around them, then we have failed by creating spiritual couch potatoes who endlessly take in knowledge that will never be put to use.

We firmly believe that in order to fully live God's purpose in our church, we must CONNECT people to Jesus Christ, GROW them in Jesus Christ, and IMPACT the world for Jesus Christ. We refuse to leave out the Gospel message of Salvation. We refuse to create a culture where staying immature is oka. We refuse to sit around and do nothing, when God has placed us in the midst of those in need.

We invite you to join with us in our purpose. We don't merely want to be a once a week, hour-long meeting. We want LoamiCC to live it's purpose and be powerful movement for Jesus Christ!

Our Beliefs

  • God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and are one God.

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God. While on earth, He was equally both God and human. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days. In doing this, He broke the power of sin and death in all of our lives. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to reign forever as King.

  • The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus. He also lives in every Christ-follower from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

  • The Bible is God's revealed will to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for our beliefs. It is the ultimate guide for living life as God intended us to live. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error.

  • People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but we have defied God by sinfully going our own way. Sin separates us from God and causes many problems in our lives. As a result, we need God's saving grace to end our alienation from Him. Salvation comes only through God's saving grace - not human effort - and must be received personally by repentance and faith.

  • Salvation is God's free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith and are baptized we are saved.

  • People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through His gracious forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him in eternal life is Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.

  • God is love. Since we were created to be like God, our lifestyle must be marked by love. God placed us here not to float passively or to flood the world with hateful, condemning comments, but to show unconditional love to everyone. We emphasize the importance of serving and loving others both in the context of volunteering at the church and also in our everyday lives. As the Bible says, "If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing."
